Welcome to Patchwork!

In a world where countless male rappers dominate and few female rappers barely scratch the surface emerges a female MC that's creating herself a place. Meet Patchwork aka The Slanted Eye Q-T Pie. This cute, petite, versatile lyricist is turning heads and stopping many in their tracks. Off stage and away from the spotlight this young lady is very low key and laid back. Once she steps in front of a microphone or a crowd of people she transforms into the person that demands attention. She dominates the stage with energy and her powerful delivery just blows you away. Don't mistake her laid back and low key demeanor for being timid. When it comes to rocking a crowd she doesn't know the meaning of the word.

Patchwork attributes the surroundings of one of San Diego's less desirable neighborhoods, Logan Heights, where she grew up as the fuel for her love of hip hop and writing as a whole. She grew up dreaming of the day when her family could leave Logan Heights and move to a better environment. When her brother got his hands on a drum machine and keyboard she went right into making her first demo. While her classmates were spending their money on the latest gear she held a part time job and used her paychecks to fund her recording projects. When asked to describe her sound the best way she can describe it is, "consistently hot." Patchwork places no limits on her rap skills. There is no style that she can't marry.

In the beginning stages of developing her rap style Patchwork studied both east and west coast rap artists. When she moved to Atlanta, where southern rap was emerging, she combined that with her already hot lyrical delivery and created a diverse style of her own. Her craft can be likened to the construction of a Patchwork quilt which takes patience and precision. The development stages of quilt construction may appear chaotic but in the end the finished product is a work of art. Patchwork's journey as a rap artist consisted of various twists and turns, ups and downs, highs and lows. Yet, without her having gone through it all she's positive that she wouldn't possess the drive, dedication and personality that make her so intriguing to the masses.

Under her given name Janerra Johnson, she has completed a novel entitled "Injured Reserve." This is the first novel in the "True To Life Series." This talented artist has combined hip hop, sports, power, fame and love into literature that is fresh, new and entertaining. Her mission is to give young readers something they can relate to and feel, just like music. If the hip hop is not ready for Patchwork's combination of style, class, beauty, talent and intelligence they better get ready.
